THE EVOLUTION OF ABAYA’S AND MODEST FASHION

The term Abaya is the Arabic reference of a cloak, it is loose over garments, worn by some women in the different parts of the Muslim world. The origins of the Abaya are vague and found to start from the civilisations of Mesopotamia, around 4000 years ago. An Abaya drapes as a robe like dress to cover the whole body excluding the head, feet and hands. Abaya’s are continually evolving with work of trendy designers and the inspiration from fashion runways and online world fashion. The different contemporary designs make Islamic fashion more accessible and fun. Abaya’s have been tailored with the best devotion of maintaining best standards to design, quality and fabric. A multiplicity of styles, designs, colours, and fabrics are continually designed and tailored for different purposes and occasions whether it is for casually every-day, work or formal meetings, sports, or occasions, weddings and celebrations. The styles continue to grow ranging with a kimono, pleated, elegant or A-line and flexible apparel that is easy to dress complemented with rhinestones, feathers, frills, flower appliqués, lace, embroidering to contemporary and abstracts prints for each season and occasion.
